Aromatherapy aka Essential Oil Therapy
Aromatherapy also known as essential oil therapy is a holistic/ alternative healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being. The use of essential oils helps improve and balance you, both emotionally and physically, while helping you to take time out for yourself, to be mindful and to reconnect with yourself, even for a moment.
Essential oils used in aromatherapy are typically extracted from various parts of plants and plant materials and aromatic plant oils, and other aroma compounds which are then distilled. Aromatherapy uses, which have been studied and shown to help improve psychological or physical well-being which include the body, mind and spirit. It enhances both physical and emotional health.
Aromatherapy is thought to work by stimulating smell receptors in the nose, which then send messages through the nervous system to the limbic system — the part of the brain that controls emotions.

There are many different uses and application of essential oils. Some of the ways in which you can use essential oils include: adding them to natural body lotions or carrier oils (coconut oils, jojoba oil, almond oil, grapeseed oil, etc.) and then apply them topically. It can be added to enhance a facial toner, shampoo, or conditioner with essential oils. Or incorporate them into liquid soap, toothpaste, or mouthwash. You can also diffuse or spritz the oils throughout a room or pour them into a bath.

During a consultation with our certified aromatherapist, you will be asked health and lifestyle questions. Together, we can come up with an individual treatment plan to meet your goals and manage your symptoms. You may have/ need a few sessions with your aromatherapist, or you could decide to have ongoing sessions for longer periods of time. Treatment plans often include a consultation and at least one follow-up session.
As with any treatment or complimentary therapy, you should speak with to your doctor before starting your sessions. This can help insure that your essential oil therapy can be tailored to work together with any medical care or treatment you’re receiving.
